Craters on the Moon

Description

This image shows many craters on the Moon. Among the most prominent ones are Tycho, in lower right, with many bright rays emanating from it, created by material ejected by the impact and fallen back on the Moon. Tycho is 53 miles or 86 km wide. Another large crater is Copernicus, in lower left, is 58 miles or 93 km wide, in the middle of a darker Moon mare area.
