M31 Andromeda Galaxy zoom1

Description

A zoom in on the core of the Andromeda galaxy, or Messier 31 (M31), shows the dust lanes surrounding the center of this object approximately as large as our own galaxy. M31 is one of the very few objects outside of our own galaxy but still (barely) visible with the naked eye in dark moonless nights! This picture was taken with a Canon EOS 600D camera attached to a telescope, with exposure time of 150 seconds and ISO 3200.
