Description

This shot of the Andromeda galaxy, or Messier 31 (M31), also shows one of its satellite galaxies called Messier 32 in the lower left. M31 is approximately as large as Milky Way, our own galaxy. M31 is one of the very few objects outside of our own galaxy but still (barely) visible with the naked eye in dark moonless nights! M31 and the Milky Way are on a collision course and scheduled to unite in about 4 billion years. This picture was taken with a Canon EOS 600D camera attached to a telescope, with exposure time of 60 seconds and ISO 6400.
